SUDAN: PROMOTION OF ACCESS AND INCLUSION FOR EMPOWERMENT OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY IN JUBA SOUTH SUDAN

GOAL: Enhance the access and inclusion to health, education and livelihood opportunities to people with disability
BENEFICIARIES
- 300 people suffering from chronic pathologies assisted with therapeutic and rehabilitative services;
- 5 health facilities within Juba;
- 40 health workers trained in the inclusion and rights of people with disabilities;
- 5 craftsmen trained in the maintenance, repair and production of basic orthopedic devices;
- 1 Rehabilitation workshop equipped with all the equipment and materials necessary for the local production of aids;
- 50 children with disabilities assisted with treatment through referral to Cure and CoRSU hospitals in Uganda;
- 2000 people in 6 communities acquire knowledge about the rights of persons with disabilities and support the improvement of the participation of persons with disabilities in community life within Juba
- 4 self-help groups for parents of children with disabilities;
- 4 schools and 1 Usratuna kindergarten supported in inclusive education;
- 20 teachers trained in inclusive education and 20 children with disabilities in schools;
- 20 CBID workers;
- 8 Organisations of people with disabilities.
