MAIN ACTIVITIES
Usratuna Preschool Management
Preschool organization and management
Permanent training for teachers to encourage inclusive teaching
Organization of sign language courses to help children with hearing problems, parents and teachers
School integration in local schools
Identification of schools and accompanying path for parents for the inclusion of children with disabilities in school
On-the-job training for teachers on inclusive education
Economic support for students enrolled in schools
Periodic monitoring of the learning path of inserted students
Organization and reception of children with disabilities and their families (Social Assistance Service)
Usratuna Rehabilitation Center Management
Coordination with two Ugandan hospitals for neurological, orthopedic and plastic surgery, currently not feasible in South Sudan
Coordination with local health structures for specialist interventions
Organization of information meetings for parents on specific disabilities for the daily management of their children
Organization of individualized rehabilitation plans (Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy)
Economic support to families for sending to Uganda
Organization of targeted post-intervention rehabilitation programs and periodic follow-ups to ensure the successful recovery of the operated children
Orthopedic Management
Training and constant updating of orthopedic technicians
Production and repair of customized aids and orthoses
Distribution of aids and orthoses to foreign and local Associations / NGOs, funded in part by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Usratuna Health Center Management
Medical visits, nursing services and laboratory analyzes
Vaccination service for children and pregnant mothers
Support to pregnant women and immediately after- childbirth for the early diagnosis of disability and to ensure the mother-child wellbeing
Epilepsy Service, unique throughout the country, for the diagnosis and treatment of people suffering from epilepsy, including cases of Nodding syndrome in the Nodding Syndrome Alliance project
Nutritional program for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children, in a state of moderate malnutrition, included in the Juba Nutrition Program and in the Improving nutrition in Juba project.
