LOCATION: Khartoum state, Omdurman district.
START OF ACTIVITY: 2004
GOAL: To train professionals in the field of rehabilitation.
ORIGIN OF THE COMMITMENT: OVCI, in the first years of its stay in Khartoum, was able to verify a low awareness of the culture of rehabilitation in Sudan. This consideration has stimulated the Body to contribute to the development of the local socio-health system, through the promotion of the first specific degree course in Rehabilitation Sciences. The most reliable and strategic counterpart has been identified in Ahfad University for Women, the first private institution in Sudan to admit only female students. For this reason, a first collaboration agreement was signed in 2004 and a second agreement in 2010, in order to cooperate in the launch and development of the first degree course in Rehabilitation Sciences in all of Sudan.
COMMITMENT DESCRIPTION: The first step was the drafting of the Curriculum of studies for the degree course in Rehabilitation Sciences. Over the years, OVCI's participation has focused on the creation of specific training modules and as support for the management of internships both during the undergraduate and post graduate courses.
