GOALS FOR THE FUTURE (from the 2020 - 2024 Strategic Plan)

Consistent with OVCI's cultural approach and responding to the priority declarations in the aforementioned government documents, it seems important to base the project activities, for the next five years, on the following specific objectives:

• Knowledge of the socio-rehabilitation demand of people with disabilities residing in Sudan and in-depth study of the main disabling pathologies in the various contexts (see Rehabilitation Centre Commitment and CBR Commitment, currently defined SiBC = Inclusive Development on a Community Base).
• Continuation of a system of training and permanent updating of socio-health and educational operators, to be used in services in favour of vulnerable and disabled people, especially in the developmental age (see Ahfad University commitment, refresher courses for SiBC operators and Vocational Training Centre).
• Promotion of a network of socio-rehabilitation services that can constitute a technical-health reference point for the identification, rehabilitation and prevention of disabling pathologies of the developmental age (see Commitment Center Rehabilitation, VTC and SiBC, with a view to creation of an integrated service, also through the involvement of other associations / services). The development of a standardized reference system must also contribute to achieving this goal, with particular regard to the early care of the child with disabilities or at risk from the Rehabilitation Center.
• Institutional strengthening of the local USADC counterpart, to ensure the organizational and economic sustainability of the entire intervention (see, in particular, Commitment of the Rehabilitation Center, VTC, SiBC, Dar - El - Salaam).
• Research collaboration on the health plan with other NGOs active in the area, in particular for the management of the DES dispensary.
